This is an amazing place to eat local food in Bari. They make some of the best panini and bruschette in the city, and have an impressive wine selection. Must go!!!

Fun little restaurant on a busy street, great with friends. I personally loved sitting there on my own and watch the city being alive on a Friday night. I’ve tried the nachos with polpo and I found it was a fun declination of the traditional panino from Bari. It did not wow me but the polpo was very tender and the nachos were an artisanal made corn tortillas, so probably it’s just that cime di Rapa is not my thing….The protagonist of the dinner was the tris of tartare. I usually like my tartare a little bit colder in temperature but the pairings (especially the tuna with stracciatella) were very tasty. Cheesecake not great…

We liked this place and the food was good. But unfortunately we didn't made previous reservation and we had to wait almost one hour in the street...The place is very busy mostly with locals which means the food is good. We tried fritto misto and 2 kinds of pasta, pasta L'assasina is very nice.

It’s a small restaurant with mainly fish (no pasta or pizza) served as carpaccio, sandwiches and others. The food was excellent and who ever says something else has no idea. The bread of the sandwich is special and fluffy and crispy at the same time. The salad Francesca was really good, simple but not served ice cold instead room temperature so it could unfold it’s aromas, great ripe tomatoes full of taste. The patrons are lovely and engaged and were nothing but lovely. If you are not looking for a full 4 course meal but instead want to dive into some fresh fish - go for it!

First place we ate in Bari and it was difficult to think of going anywhere else afterwards. The people there were warm and welcoming, menu interesting and focused on what they do well, and the food was mind blowing! Get the Il Tramonto and the La Marea sandwiches.

We love this place!!! We ordered the poker (from the English menu) which was a lineup of 4 bruschette. This was fantastic. My friend and I also shared the club sandwich which had a few different types of raw fish, lime ricotta, onion, and tomato. Both were great and the owner was so so kind. For other tourists, just know this is simply a fish spot, so no pizza or pasta if that’s what you’re specifically looking for. Given that bari is a seafood town, we knew we wanted seafood only.

Perhaps cinque stelle should only be reserved for such places that well deserve them. First experience of a tartare panino was a delight. Octopus with friarielli an buffalo mozzarella is a must!

Not just wonderful food and drinks, but also Carlo and Rita (the two associates) make this place one of the best we've been to in Bari. Even though the city has lots of wonderful restaurants with amazing fresh fish, at Al Coltello you have all of that plus a very welcoming reception from them both. Despite our very basic Italian, we had delightful conversations and they were gentle enough as to recommend their favorite paninis and wine. Very fresh fish and the combinations of ingredients in each panino are delicious (and the bread in the panini is also very good). We've been there for lunch and came back the next day to have our last meal before leaving Bari. We had a wonderful time and hope we can come back at another opportunity.
